SFC Alumni Homecoming 2011

The soft glow from the hundreds of tiny lights lit up the tent at the annual SFC Alumni Homecoming game night on the lawn of the old Del Mar train station. Alumni came together once again for a night of revelry, drinks, desserts, table games and raffle prizes, all in support of the Evelyn Huey Scholarship Fund. Between the ticket sales and donations, the event raised a grand total of $2,305, which translates into a scholarship for the Evelyn Huey Scholarship Fund to give out. This scholarship will be selected by a committee and awarded to one applicant for the 2012-2013 school year.

During the evening, the 2011 Impact Award was given to Debbie Lieber for her years of making learning fun and truly loving the students of Santa Fe Christian. A public apology from former student Mike Farrington (’99) for reading the newspaper in the front row during her class was the icing on the award. Amy (Ensz) Kennard (’92) was presented with the 2011 Distinguished Alumni award for her decades of dedication to Santa Fe Christian from her time as a student to that of a teacher and administrator. The evening ended on a fun note, as raffle tickets won in the night’s table games were drawn for some amazing raffle prizes – thank you to all of our raffle prize donors, who made this part of the evening so exciting!
The next day, as alums returned to Santa Fe to watch the Eagles play their Homecoming game, the alumni tent welcomed them with food and fellowship – not to mention some shade and a prime view of the game. It was such a joy to watch Eagle alumni come together for these events!
